Ready to test your strength, endurance, and grit? This 12-week Spartan Sprint training program is designed to prepare you for the demands of a Spartan Sprint from the Spartan Race — a challenging 5K obstacle race that combines trail running with strength, grip, and mental toughness.
This program blends mountain-style running workouts with strength and obstacle-specific training so you can build the endurance to handle steep terrain while developing the power and grip required to conquer obstacles like carries, climbs, and rig work.
Each week includes six training days and one full rest day. You’ll train with a mix of hill intervals, trail runs, strength workouts, and obstacle simulations to build total-body strength and race-day durability. The program also includes active recovery work to help you stay consistent and reduce injury risk.
Throughout the 12 weeks, you’ll progressively build:
• Running endurance for hilly terrain
• Full-body strength using compound movements
• Grip endurance for hanging and rig obstacles
• Core stability for carries, climbs, and downhill control
• Mental toughness to push through fatigue
